I am the monster made, not born. Created in blood. Scarred by it. Defined by it.

The world sees who I allow them to see. A decorated detective. Protector of the innocent. That’s only half the truth. I do uphold the law by day.  But by night? 

I rewrite it.

I learned young that the law doesn’t protect everyone. So I hunt down those who think they’re untouchable. The monsters justice has forgotten. And I deliver it.

Every kill is a promise kept. Every body, a balance restored.

I follow my own rules. I leave no trace. I feel nothing.

Until her.

When her monsters came too close, I did what I do best. I made them disappear. But saving her meant exposing the side of me no one was ever meant to see.

The night I saved her, I broke one rule. The moment I decided to keep her?

I broke them all.

 I’ve spent my life being used, hurt, preyed upon… forgotten. The world broke me, and no one noticed.

 No one but him.

I should have run… but I didn’t.  Because for the first time, someone saw me.

 The cracks. The fear. The defeat.

He thinks he saved me from a monster. He saved me by showing me a darkness I never knew I needed.

I don’t want to run. I want to learn.

 Monsters don’t scare me anymore.
